CARE Project

The Career Advancement and Resource Education Project (CARE) is a regional workforce strategy supported through GO Virginia Region 6. It brings together employers, educators, and workforce professionals to align training with documented industry demand and develop employer-driven career pathways.

  • Employer Toolkit developed for skills-based hiring and talent pipeline management

Featured Program

RCC Advanced Machining Program

Developed through collaboration between Bay Consortium, Rappahannock Community College, regional manufacturers, and economic development organizations to directly address the regional shortage of skilled CNC machinists in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.

Program Highlights

  • 180 hours of hands-on CNC machining instruction
  • Training in materials, programming, machine setup, and operations
  • Three National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials attainable
  • Capacity to train approximately 40 students annually
